Welcome!
Our Mission
This is a space where fosters or adopters can look for dogs who REALLY need help. Our mission is to help as many of these dogs as possible by taking them out of the kennels and preventing them from being passed over due to their poor kennel presence. By creating this club, we want to build connections and match potential fosters or adopters to a specific dog in the hope of minimizing the number of trips across the "rainbow bridge". Questions? Contact us at indigodogclub@gmail.com!

Who We Are?
We are a group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing shelter dogs experiencing kennel frustration. Some dogs just don't have the emotional tools to cope with being in the shelter. Over time, they develop kennel frustration and act out, which makes them less desirable to potential adopters and less available for enrichment as they transition from easiest handling level to the hardest, the pool of volunteers who can spend time with them diminishes, so their frustration worsens. Some of these dogs deteriorate further and wind up in the red zone which ultimately puts their lives at risk.
Why Indigo?
We created the Indigo Dog Club to catch these deteriorating dogs and take them out of the shelter by finding potential fosters or adopters. We share what makes these dogs special by focusing not only on details about their inner sweet doggie selves that will shine and blossom in a home but also on behavioral issues a foster/adopter would need to know to set them up for success!

- About me: Wach out! Rem melts hearts. He is the cutest boy on earth. He loves fetch. Knows sit. Takes treats gently. He is frustrated in kennel and gets jumpy when he’s first in the yard, but easily redirectable. What a good boy!
Sweetest pittie eyes who just stare into your soul.

VideoStryka
3 years old, 47 lbs, male
- About me: I am just a young boy who wants to have fun! I love toys, fetch, and squeaky things!! I am also a master at sit. I am a smart boy and eager to please. I will thrive in a family looking for a lively young pup!
Need to overcome: I need to learn to take treats with a soft mouth (but it's hard because they are so yummy)!
VideoAveril
3 years old, 50 lbs, female
- About me: Averil was found as a stray, and the shelter is a very scary and overwhelming place for her. She’s a sweet girl who gives soft tail wags and loves treats. Most of the time, her time is spent very timid with her tail tucked. Poor baby. We are ready for her to turn to a new chapter outside the shelter. Let’s give this sweet girl a voice and find her a home!
Need to overcome: Shy and fearful. Need someone to help her build confidence.
VideoAcorn
4 years old, 60 lbs, male
- About me: They say I’m a handsome pup with beautiful eyes. Well, I agree. I wasn’t always like this. I came to the shelter as a very skinny stray in need of good meals, kindness and love. In time, I sprung back to health and I began to feel more confident and showed people the sweet, loving pup that I am.
I have been fortunate to stay at a foster home for some time, and I showed them that I am a pup who loves everyone I meet and I love to make my people proud. That I am house-trained, I know “sit”, “down”, and "stay". That I walk beautifully on a leash, pass dogs and people calmly. That I am crate-trained and that I sleep through the night.
Some say that I am “so serious” and that I hardly smile. Well, that’s just how I am. I tend to gaze at people. Why? Because I'm wondering if they're the one. So if you see me gazing at you, just know that I’m hoping to catch your eye, hoping you would choose me to be your loyal companion, and hoping you would take me to my forever home.
Miso
7 months old, 53 lbs, female
- About me: I mean... look at that lovely face!!! Do you really need to read a bio before you run over and foster or adopt me?! I am still a baby, but I already know how to charm people with my big smile. I enjoy exploring my surroundings and have pretty good leash manners. I know how to sit on command, especially if cheese is involved. I am also an absolute cuddle expert. While I adore cheese, my love for people is even greater. Hard to believe, right?!
Need to overcome: I am only 7 months old. This is when I need to learn to socialize with everything in life. Being in a kennel with minimum socialization is just not ideal.

With her sweet and wiggly nature, Brook will bring lots of joy and love to whoever is lucky enough to adopt or foster her.
